Dear Trekker,

if you are planning to travel the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and you need information about the route, you can rely on the online guide www.altaviainfoh24.com, available in the on foot version and in the mountain bike version.

The itinerary of the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri from Ventimiglia (IM) to Ceparana (SP) has been divided for practicality into 15 sections for those who travel on foot and 7 sections for those who travel by mountain bike. This division into sections is only geographical: the sections do not represent daily stages! Each trekker will work out his daily stages according to his needs and rhythms.

In both versions, only the first section is open to access, in order to evaluate its contents: to consult the others, a subscription is required. The subscription costs € 5 and is valid for one year, WITHOUT automatic renewal.

For each section you can find the following information:

- altitude profile
- GPS track
- information table divided into 6 tabs (itinerary / water / shelter / accommodation / restaurants / services).

The services tab includes shops, shuttle services, public transport, ATMs, shelter and food for horses and donkeys, bicycle shelter and repair equipment, nearest inhabited centers.

For a better planning of your trekking, we suggest you to call the accommodations at least one day in advance, to check - particularly in high season - if they are open and if they have beds available. On request, a large number of accommodation facilities that are not exactly on the path offer shuttle service from/to Alta Via at a minumum fee.

On the cartography page you can find a list of the maps currently available online, relating to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri. We suggest preferring the maps of the Central Geographic Institute of Turin, as this is the only publisher that covers the entire itinerary.

Before departure, may we suggest you to:

1) take note of our free non stop phone number +39.338.16.29.347 which is available any day (holidays included) and any time; calling this number you will get in touch with Claudio Simonetti (author of this guide) and you will be able to receive information and assistance; if you are on the Alta Via and do not remember the number, pay attention to the numerous Alta Via Info H24 signs positioned along the entire itinerary

2) download on your smartphone any application that shall allow you to know your exact position (latitude north, longitude east). Doing so, you shall always be able to report your whereabouts during your trekking and, case need, help us in giving a proper assistance.
